today in sociology, i watched a movie about cocaine production and abuse in the Amazon, which is the world's leading manufacturer of the drug. There was one part of the movie in which a man's head was smashed open and part of his brain was snipped off in order to control his addiction of cocaine -- unfortunately, it didn't work and he relapsed several months later. Isn't that great? luckily, i ducked my head down just in time and instead of watching it, i listed to the moans and groans of my fellow classmates as they voluntarily subjected themselves to the visual torture.
